Personal Success Means Starting the Year with the End in Mind
by Frank Barnhill M.D.

I’m sure you’ve all heard the saying: the fastest way to go nowhere is not to start the trip.  Or how about this one: a sure fire way to lose a game is not to play.  These sayings have a lot of value, as their truth is absolute.  The number one reason a lot of people fail at what they wish to do is: they never start.

By now, you’ve probably guessed the number two reason: those who fail often fail to plan.  Having a plan for life is like buying a roadmap before you try to drive somewhere on vacation.  There’s just one problem; In order to get somewhere, you have to know where you are going.  Then, the roadmap comes in handy, because you know where to go and how to get there.

People who are highly successful in life go one step further.  They not only plan where and how, but when.  They literally start every New Year with the end in mind.  Simply put, they plan all of their work, personal life and energies on a time schedule so that they will meet their goals by the end of the year.  Some go further with two year, five year and ten year plans.  Some like three or six-month time schedules, but most successful persons have a written plan for their year.

If you decide upon goals for the year, then by all means set start dates along with your completion date at the end of the year.  Making goals to be met by the end of the year, without setting a start date, is the same as never playing the game.  The preparation means nothing if you don’t take the risk of winning or losing.  And yes, everything in life carries risk.

Now, why should you start the New Year with the end in mind?  Oh, there are dozens of potential reasons: doing so will reduce or prevent unneeded stress and anxiety, maybe help you make more money by the end of the year, help you get that promotion, let you spend more time with the family, and even give you a healthier life with loads of self esteem.  Do you get the picture?

No matter whom you work for, ultimately you work for yourself and you choose the path you take in life.  You must first decide where you want to be at what time in your life.  Then you can work on traveling your chosen path to that goal.  So a good New Year’s plan includes a goal, to be met at a specific time, with a specific start date and lastly a roadmap on how to get there.  Otherwise, you really can’t get there from here!

If you truly wish to be successful in life, start your New Year with the end in mind.

Happy New Year!

Dr. Frank

Chocolate is a Vegetable
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Chocolate is derived from cacao beans. Bean = vegetable. Sugar is derived from either sugar CANE or sugar BEETS. Both are plants, which places them in the vegetable category. Thus, chocolate is a vegetable.

To go one step further, chocolate candy bars also contain milk, which is dairy. So candy bars are a health food.

Chocolate-covered raisins, cherries, orange slices and strawberries all count as fruit, so eat as many as you want.

If you've got melted chocolate all over your hands, you're eating it too slowly.

The problem: How to get 2 pounds of chocolate home from the store in a hot car. The solution: Eat it in the parking lot.

Diet tip: Eat a chocolate bar before each meal. It'll take the edge off your appetite, and you'll eat less.

If calories are an issue, store your chocolate on top of the fridge. Calories are afraid of heights, and they will jump out of the chocolate to protect themselves.(We're testing this with other snack foods as well.)

If I eat equal amounts of dark chocolate and white chocolate, is that a balanced diet? Don't they actually counteract each other?

Chocolate has many preservatives. Preservatives make you look younger. Therefore, you need to eat more chocolate.

Put "eat chocolate" at the top of your list of things to do today. That way, at least you'll get one thing done.

A nice box of chocolates can provide your total daily intake of calories in one place. Now, isn't that handy?

If you can't eat all your chocolate, it will keep in the freezer. But if you can't eat all your chocolate, what's wrong with you?

If not for chocolate, there would be no need for control top pantyhose.  An entire garment industry would be devastated. You can't let that happen, can you?

How To Survive A Heart Attack When Alone

Have you ever thought or dreamed, or should I say had a nightmare of being alone, day or night, and the worst possible scenario hit you smack in the face? Yep, a full blown heart attack. Being with someone when this terrible attack comes is bad enough. Being alone? This publisher wouldn't even want to think, dream, or even have a nightmare of being alone and suffering one of America's most devastating and climactically closures, a heart attack.

We did some investigating and some research on just how or if one could actually help themselves stop one, prolong it until you can get help or what ever. So we did find an article that proves to be a life-saver.

How To Survive A Heart Attack When Alone

Since many people are alone when they suffer a heart attack, this article seems to be just what the doctor ordered? Well, anyway.......

....Without help, the person whose heart stops beating properly and who begins to feel faint, has only about 10 seconds left before losing consciousness. However, these victims can help themselves by coughing repeatedly and very vigorously.

A deep breath should be taken before each cough, and the cough must be deep and prolonged, as when producing sputum from deep inside the chest.

In other words one must induce a powerful cough just like you had something stuck in your throat and out of dire necessity and scared as all heck, were forced to cough for you life. Remember? we've all faced that one time or another. But of course when you do have something caught in your throat, or had swallowed food and it went down wrong, the key there is to fight off the fear of choking to death by remaining a calm as you can be.

Then if you force yourself to remain calm, you will allow your wind pipe and the food that went down the wrong way to slowly open back up. This valve is really a muscle or better known as a sphincter which opens and closes.

Getting back to the life saving technique of coughing, a breath and a cough must be repeated about every TWO SECONDS without letup until help arrives, or until the heart is felt to be beating normally again.

Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs and coughing movements squeeze the heart and keep the blood circulating. The squeezing pressure on the heart also helps it regain normal rhythm. In this way, heart attack victims can get to a phone and, between breaths, call for help.

Tell as many other people as possible about this, it could save their lives!

This article was found in the World health Institute and from several hospitals in San Diego, Ca. and also in New York State. You can check with your doctor and see if he is aware of this method.

That's it for this month, stay well and be healthy.

These health tips can only be found in Bob Osgoodby's “Your Best
Body Ever” Newsletter.

The Amazing Mystery of Remote Viewing
by Dr Jill Ammon-Wexler

In past times shaman, psychics and clairvoyants were said to have the ability to access 'psychic realms' in which all information was available. Those with a more metaphysical viewpoint have long expressed this as gaining access to what they call the 'Akasic records.'

But you may be surprised to learn that such viewing of events or objects in other times or remote places is now a disciplined scientific tool known as Remote Viewing -- or 'RV.'

**A Version of Time Travel?
The power of RV has been scientifically confirmed. Some remove viewers are even going so far as to claim that time travel is possible -- and that the human mind is the natural time traveler. And surprisingly, scientific confirmations have been achieved.

**What IS Remote Viewing?
Remote viewing (RV) is a refined mental ability that allows the 'viewer' to give details about something unavailable to their normal senses due to time, distance, or shielding -- that is, to actually 'see' something that is not really visible, in the common sense of the word.

Although it may sound like a 'lunatic fringe' activity -- RV is being used today in criminal investigations, government intelligence work, and even in certain business applications such as pre-determining the probable effects of an action, or for predicting the viability of a potential mining or drilling site.

The phenomenon of remote viewing is related to other mysterious 'psi' (parapsychological) phenomena such as clairvoyance or telepathy. But RV is not really a 'psi' phenomenon. Remote viewing is actually a learned skill that lets the viewer better use their own natural mental abilities.

Many very intelligent people who want to explore their full potential have also become interested in developing RV capabilities. And as might be predicted, numerous training resources have become available to fill that demand.

**The Remote Viewing Experience
Despite the 'viewing' part of the term, remote viewing is only partially concerned with what's visible about a target.

An RV experience also involves sensory-related mental impressions such as sounds, tastes, smells, and textures -- and some limited telepathy-like effects. And in many cases, the experience can only be described as an intuitive sense of "just knowing."

The "targets" chosen for remote viewing experiments typically include geographic locations, hidden objects, and even such things as archaeological sites and objects in space. In an applied session, the remote viewer might be asked to describe:

=>A location which they have never visited,

=>An event that happened in the past, or could happen in the future,

=>An object sealed in a container or locked in a room, or

=>A remote person or activity.

What makes remote viewing experiences unusual is that the 'viewer' is typically told nothing about the target -- often not even its name, or designation.

**A Brief History of RV
Remote viewing was actually first developed and explored in a strict scientific research environment. There were two parallel research efforts beginning in the USA in the 1970s -- a military program at Ft. Meade, Maryland, and a civilian-led, US Department of Defense research program at Stanford University.

Other civilian research and applications were also taking place around the world, and at that time the Russians were clearly in the lead at advanced RV and other 'psi' phenomena.

Unlike most other 'psi' disciplines, remote viewing is not precisely one thing -- but is rather an integrated combination of several 'psi' mental phenomena. But RV is more structured than other 'psi' disciplines such as clairvoyance, telepathy, and out-of-body experiences.

In controlled remote viewing, the viewer not only verbalizes what he or she perceives -- the results are also recorded in writing, sketches, or even three-dimensional modeling.

**Scientific Views of RV
Some psychologists feel that formal RV methods are really just strategies that allow the viewer successfully access their subconscious mind. But this fails to explain how a viewer could 'view' something previously completely unknown to them personally.

I personally subscribe to an interpretation tied to quantum physics -- and accept the quantum interpretation of life as a quantum continuum in which everything (and everyone) is inherently interconnected.

In the case of the person with RV or other 'esp' capabilities -- my belief is that they have simply refined their mental ability to more efficiently tap into the continuum of consciousness we call life.

But what was once called paranormal or psychic is now also looking a lot like what many today call 'virtual reality.' To those more familiar with virtual reality than parapsychology -- the concept of remote viewing may seem more familiar if described in such virtual reality terms as 'cross-dimensional wiring' or 'levels of consciousness.'

**Some Amazing Additional Resources
The judge is still out. But if you have an interest in this fascinating topic, you'll find many exciting resources in The Self Discovery Community, including amazing people who will teach you RV methods formerly used only by the military -- or that will conduct a past, future or present remote viewing for your company.

If you need to lose weight, you must be in caloric deficit. This can be accomplished by cutting down your caloric intake, or
increasing the amount of calories you burn by exercising. I recommend both. Even though a calorie is a calorie when it comes to weight loss, a calorie is not a calorie when it comes to your health. Make sure your daily diet includes several servings of fruit and vegetables and whenever possible, avoid foods that contain trans fat.

If you eat something and no one sees you eat it, it has no calories.
