Sometimes, if you are trouble shooting a problem on your computer with a technician, you might be asked some questions about your computer. You may not know the answer, but don't despair - there is an easy way to find out.
Press the Start button, and select the run command. At the prompt, type MSINFO32 and a dialogue box will appear with all kinds of information about your computer.
On this day in 1922, British archaeologist Howard Carter and his workmen discover a step leading to the tomb of King Tutankhamen in the Valley of the Kings in Egypt.
When Carter first arrived in Egypt in 1891, most of the ancient Egyptian tombs had been discovered, though the little-known King Tutankhamen, who had died when he was 18, was still unaccounted for. After World War I, Carter began an intensive search for "King Tut's Tomb," finally finding steps to the burial room hidden in the debris near the entrance of the nearby tomb of King Ramses VI in the Valley of the Kings. On November 26, 1922, Carter and fellow archaeologist Lord Carnarvon entered the interior chambers of the tomb, finding them miraculously intact.
Thus began a monumental excavation process in which Carter carefully explored the four-room tomb over several years, uncovering an incredible collection of several thousand objects. The most splendid architectural find was a stone sarcophagus containing three coffins nested within each other. Inside the final coffin, which was made out of solid gold, was the mummy of the boy-king Tutankhamen, preserved for more than 3,000 years. Most of these treasures are now housed in the Cairo Museum.
Many cities are seeing a big return of neighborhood newspapers. Small neighborhood papers focus on a particular part of town. They carry news on events within a few mile radius of their readers. Neighborhood papers also work hard to appeal to businesses in their immediate area. Neighborhood papers not only feature far lower rates than larger papers, they also let you focus tightly on a particular part of town.

MADSTER ORDERED TO TRACK SONGS
Several weeks after ruling that online file-swapping service Madster violated copyright laws in the same way Napster did, U.S. District Judge Marvin Aspen this week decided that the company must maintain a list of songs currently available on its system.
Madster was also ordered to remove any copyrighted material from its network. Cary Sherman, president of the Recording Industry Association of America, said the ruling is a victory for copyright holders and those who want "to see the legitimate online market grow."
Johnny Deep, founder of Madster, has previously said he does not know how his company will be able to filter copyrighted material because everything moving through Madster's network is encrypted.

This One Crucial Marketing Mistake Can Cost You Thousands of Dollars in Profit
Many entrepreneurs openly admit there is money to be made on the Net if you're actively promoting products or services through an affiliate program. Yet, most people are still making one crucial mistake that costs them to lose thousands of dollars in profit every year. I should know; I used to be one of those people!
In a moment, I will let you know what this crucial mistake is but first-let's imagine that you joined an affiliate program that pays you a 50% commission for every sale you make. Your first step is to buy a $60 ad space inside two of the most popular publications circulating on the Net today. Total cost for ad space is $120. From your ad placements, 1,000 people visit the web page through your link and 5% of them make a purchase. Goodie for you-you just earned commissions on 50 sales.
If the product sold for $27, the affiliate owner pays you 50% of every book sold so your commission equates to $13.50 x 50 sales. You earned $675 minus the $120 you spent on advertising. Final result: ($675 - 120) = $555 of profits.
Sounds like a pretty kosher deal, doesn't it?
If you're shaking your head yes-ask yourself these questions:
=> Since only 5% of the 1,000 visits resulted in a sale; what happened to the other 95% that made it the affiliate web page but didn't buy the product? Where are they now?
If you're like most participants, you have no idea and this is a tragedy. After all, $120 was spent on advertising to get them to click your link-and now you can't even thank them for visiting your affiliate page. Imagine, there are 950 prospects out there who were highly interested in what you had to offer but you haven't got a single clue who they are.
=> Other than your commissions, how else did you benefit from the sale?
Perhaps the affiliate program you belong to pays on repeated commissions. This means if the same 50 people who purchased through your first affiliate link, buy a second product from the affiliate owner, you will earn more money. This is truly fabulous but what about the other 950 people who didn't buy from your first promotional efforts? Is there an opportunity to make a new sale? Is there a way for you to contact those 950 people who didn't buy before?
=> Did you generate a list filled with 1,000 new leads for your use?
Sadly, unless you were able to capture the name and email address of *all* the people who click on your affiliate link, you forfeit any chance of being able to contact them at a future date.
Unfortunately, this also means:
1. You can't implement a follow up strategy.
2. You can't find out why they didn't buy the first product.
3. You can't ever offer them any additional products.
4. You can't survey them to find out what they truly want to buy.
5. You can't build an ongoing relationship with any of them.
Bottom line: You've lost an opportunity to contact highly interested consumers to generate future sales; and worse yet, $114 of the money you spent on advertising was wasted!
The Plain and Simple Truth
The one crucial marketing mistake that is costing you thousands of dollars in profits is simply *not building* your personal contact list. But thank your lucky stars, all hope is not lost. ;-) Since you now know what the crucial mistake is, you can fix it. You can start building your contact list, follow up with prospective customers, and never worry about losing thousands of dollars in profits ever again!

6 cups onions peeled and thinly sliced
4 cups of light beef broth
1/4 cup butter
1 tsp. sugar
1/4 cup white wine
2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
salt and pepper to taste
6 - 8 slices French bread toasted and cut into one inch cubes
1 cup shredded Swiss or mozzarella cheese
Saute onions in butter until tender. Add beef broth, sugar, white wine, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, then cook over medium heat for 15 - 20 minutes.
Ladle soup into oven proof bowls. Place one slice of toasted bread cubes in each bowl. Top each bowl with cheese and bake in oven for 10 minutes at 350 degrees or until cheese is melted and lightly browned.
