Tip of the DayWhat is a Terabyte?
Your computer disk storage is normally mesured in gigabytes. A terabyte = 1,099,511,627,776 bytes (or approximately one trillion bytes). A terabyte is equivalent to 1,000 gigabytes or 1,000,000 megabytes. So yo might ask, what is a byte.
A byte is a contiguous sequence of binary bits in a serial data stream, such as in modem or satellite communications, or from a disk-drive head, which is the smallest meaningful unit of data. OK, so what is a bit.
A bit (short for binary digit) is the smallest unit of data in a computer. A bit has a single binary value, either 0 or 1. It is these combinations of 0 or 1 that make up a byte. So, a terabyte = 8,796,093,022,208 bits.
Everything clear now?

Something to Think About by Jan Tincher
What are the metaphors for YOUR life?
If you aren't familiar with metaphors, here is one. "Life sucks!" Here's another. "Life is full of beautiful surprises!" If you think the first one, or you think the second one, that's one of the metaphors for your life.
Think of all the metaphors you use for all areas of your life. Write them down and review the list. With each one, ask, If my life was like this, how would I feel?"
Make sure each area of your life has empowering metaphors.
If they aren't, create new ones. If they are already empowering, create new ones that are even more empowering -- for each area of your life.
Repeat the new metaphors at the beginning and end of every day for the next month. Decide that these are the metaphors you will live with now. At the end of those thirty days, see how your thoughts AND your life has changed.
And weren't those changes fantastic?

Food for Thought
Plan Your Work
Plan your work, then work your plan. Write down what you intend to accomplish with your business, how you plan to do it, and what it is going to cost. Then look for things you can cross off the list or substitute with a cheaper solution. Absolutely, contact people who are already working in the field. Talk with both those who are succeeding and those who have failed. You will get an invaluable real world view of what you are about to try.

Making Babies
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=A 3rd-grade girl came home from school. She was very happy, and her Mom noticed this. Mom asked, "What makes you so happy today?" The girl said, "Mom, we learned how to make babies in school today!"
Thinking that 3rd grade was a bit early for that, she asked her daughter to tell her how.
"It's easy, Mom -- you just drop the y, and add ies," the daughter said.

The little boy was caught swearing by his teacher.
"Jeffrey," she said, "you shouldn't use that kind of language. Where did you hear it?"
"My daddy said it," he responded.
"Well, that doesn't matter," she explained, "you don't know what it means."
"I do, too," Jeffrey corrected. "It means the car won't start."

My parents are both busy professional people and have trouble finding time for chores and home maintenance. On weekends they each make a list of things to be done. Father's list is never completely crossed off, but Mother's always is. Puzzled, I asked her how she managed that.
"Simple," she answered with a satisfied grin. "I do the chore first, and then I put it on the list and cross it off!"
-----
After a young couple brought their new baby home, the wife suggested that her husband should try his hand at changing diapers. "I'm busy," he said, "I'll do the next one."
The next time came around and she asked again. The husband looked puzzled, "Oh! I didn't mean the next diaper. I meant the next baby!"

The Dollar Stretcher
by Gary ForemanIs Money Evil?
Do you think that it's virtuous to be poor? Many people do. In many religious traditions holiness is in part accomplished by turning your back on material things. The idea is that to appreciate the spiritual you need to totally forsake the material. Or at least get as close as possible. Many have taken vows of poverty to pursue this goal.
But, I'd argue that it's a not quite that simple. Money is just a tool. You wouldn't say that a person was bad because they had too many tools. Money is just a way that we have of exchanging things. By itself money has no value. It's not necessarily good or bad. It's what people do with money that is good or bad. So the problem is with the way money is used. Not the money itself.
One of the most misquoted verses in the Bible is that "For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil" (1 Tim 6:10). It's the love that causes the problem. When you place your affection on money you become vulnerable to troubles. The mere fact that you have accumulated some wealth does not make you bad.
So what does this have to do with achieving Financial Independence? Good question! Actually, quite a bit.
First, to be financially independent means being in control of our money. Not to have our money control us. So we need to be careful not to fall in love with our money. If we do, we'll begin to let money have too much influence over us. Just another way of saying money is in control.
Secondly, a belief that money is bad could be sabotaging your desire to build wealth. If subconsciously we believe that all money is evil, then we'll push it away from us. We'll find it hard to do the things necessary to build a savings account or IRA. I've even heard people say that they have a way of 'repelling money' or that they're 'alergic to money'. We can't see our subconscious, but it has a large impact on what we do and say. Sometimes it even ruins our own plans.
So what do you think about money? Do you have a good relationship with it? Or is it time to reconsider what you believe?
