Tip of the DayBad Email Filtering
As the email filtering frenzy continues, email hosts end up blocking legitimate email (like this newsletter) while the "bad guys" sneak their unsolicited commercial e-junk (UCE) into your inbox. I've told you about MSN/Hotmail blocking pictures in HTML emails and all the problems with AOL . Email hosts change their filters to block more UCE, and sometimes that causes emails that you once received regularly to be filtered out.
If you use Yahoo, and our newsletter or any other newsletter you're subscribed to stops showing up in your inbox, Check your "Bulk Folder". If the newsletter is there, open it and go to the top or bottom of the message and click the "Not Spam" button.
A The "This is not Spam" window should appear. Check the box "Move messages to the inbox..." and press the "Mark Message as Not Spam" Button.
As much as we email newsletter publishers hate filters, at least this setup sends suspicious mail to an easily accessible folder and gives users a way to get legitimate senders out of email purgatory.
If you are a Yahoo Mail user, and find us in your Bulk folder, PLEASE click the buttons mentioned above.
Another way to avoid missing our newsletter due to email censorship is to read it on our web site. All back editions are archived and can be retrieved at: http://www.adv-marketing.com/business/tod.htm

Something to Think About by Jan Tincher
How do you overcome the false belief that you have a problem that is all encompassing?
Answer: You take control of some part of that problem immediately. Even if it's the smallest part of the problem. The important thing is to take control NOW. Treat it like a hamster does a cracker. The cracker is big, but he keeps eating away. Pretty soon, the cracker is gone. The same with your problem.

Food for Thought
Specialized Products
For more specialized products and services you are better off to send your press release to a more limited and specialized group of publications. For example, there are about 80 financial publications that will cover a specialized or technical story that is of interest to the banking and investment industries.

GrinsFuneral Procession
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=My friend, her sister and I were driving in the procession to the cemetery for the funeral of a distant relative.
"Since we don't really know anybody, do you want to head on home?" the driver asked.
When the sister nodded, she made a right turn.
We had gotten about a quarter of a mile down the road when the driver happened to look in the rear-view mirror. The rest of the procession was still following us!

A teenager who had just received her learner's permit for driving offered to drive her parents to church. After a hair-raising ride, they finally reached their destination.
"Thank you!" said the mother as she got out of the car and breathed a sigh of relief.
"Anytime," her daughter replied.
As the mother closed the door she said, "I wasn't talking to you. I was talking to God."
-----
There is an old story about a mother who walks in on her 6 year-old son and finds him sobbing. "What's the matter?" she asks.
"I've just figured out how to tie my shoes."
"Well, Honey, that's wonderful." Being a wise mother, she recognized his victory in the struggle of autonomy versus doubt: "You're growing up, but why are you crying?"
"Because," he says, "now I'll have to do it every day for the rest of my life."
-----
While driving in the car with my son, I had an "oldies" radio station on. It played a song that I remembered from the 1960's.
"You know, Ron, this song was on when I was in bed with a broken leg when I was young."
"Gee, Mom, that's too bad," he replied. "You couldn't even get up to turn it off."

Two men went fishing. One was an experienced fisherman, the other wasn't. Every time the experienced fisherman caught a big fish, he put it in his ice chest to keep it fresh. Whenever the inexperienced fisherman caught a big fish, he threw it back.
The experienced fisherman watched this go on all day and finally got tired of seeing the man waste good fish. "Why do you keep throwing back all the big fish you catch?" he asked.
The inexperienced fisherman replied, "I only have a small frying pan."

I've stopped exercising.
Pushing 50 is enough exercise for me.
