The 7 reasons sites fail before they even get started!

Every one would love to have their site in the top ten for the subject that represents their site, and it can create somewhat of a "haze" of thoughts. Here are a couple of things to keep in mind…..

1. Focus: what do you REALLY sell…..get in and on your most likely customers mind, you don't really want a top search engine ranking, what you want are visitors to your site, who take the action you want.  Be it become a lead, a customer or a request for more information.

2. Never build just for search -You site must have value, what do you provide that makes it worthy of being in the top of results- work with Google.

Factors to consider - Recently, factors like the density of the text on your site, the design, meta tags etc have been moved to less important in rankings.  Still a factor, but less important.

3. Linking factors - while outside links have always been a factor, they have become more important and most of the time, they can override other factors of onsite design!

(If you would like to know the true effect of off page links, check out this: Search for "Click Here" in Google - the top site should be Adobe Acrobat. It doesn't even have Click Here in the page or its design!)

4. Quality - If your site is quality, you will attract other quality sites to link to you, if you can provide reasons, free online services, tools, etc to make it easy for them to link to you.  You make your site stand out from the others!

5. Define the Actions you want - A visitor or thousands of free visitors are no use without them taking the required action at your site. A most wanted response and a secondary response.

6. Link to anyone - Here is commonly made mistake, exchanging links with anybody and everybody. You want links from themes within your subject. If you are a cat site, then from other cat sites would make sense, not a poker site just because it have a high page rank.

Ok, I think I have raved enough. I believe in top rankings for quality sites, they deserve it! It's all a matter of taking the steps to get it. Links are a very effective way of long term passive traffic, not just for search engines but for customers.

I recently read that high doses of vitamin E may be harmful. Is that true?

There has not been sufficient evidence to confirm that vitamin E is harmful. There are thousands of studies made over the past several decades that would prove otherwise. Research has shown that vitamin E provides a host of protection, which includes supporting immune function, promoting cardiovascular health, decreasing risk and progression of Alzheimer’s disease, lowering blood pressure, and slows cell oxidation retards aging.

The federal government and the Institute of Medicine both report that you may safely consume up to 1600 IU per day of natural vitamin E (I recommend this form) or 1000 IU of synthetic vitamin E.

I recommend taking vitamin E as part of your daily regimen following the guidelines set by the Institute of Medicine listed above.
