This Spring Sue and myself went to Spain with my brother Glenn and his wife Pat. We stayed at the Hotel Salobrena in the town of Salobrena. Find Granada and immediately below it you will see the town of Salobrena.
We left from JFK Airport in New York, leaving at 6 PM, and flew non-stop (thank goodness as it was across the Ocean
The route to Salobrena was along the coastal road which was very hilly. In fact, we were all surprised at how mountainous the whole area was. We were in the foothills of the Sierra Madre Mountains. They had a lot of rain in Spain that winter and we saw many houses that had fallen. And the road was closed in several spots, so a "scary" detour or two was taken. With a several hundred foot drop to the Mediterranean below, we were not the most comfortable people on the bus.
We arrived at the Hotel Salobrena which is a QQQQ Hotel about noon and at this point had been up for almost 36 hours, but knew if we took a nap, we would never adjust to the time change. Since the plan we were on included an open bar, we spent a few hours at the pool, had dinner and visited the Lounge after dinner. We went to bed at "our" normal time and didn't experience any difficulty with the time change.
The Hotel was on a high bluff overlooking the Mediterranean. Click on the thumbnail pictures below to continue your trip with us.
